PV & Solar Thermal
This recent installation near Cambridge gave us the opportunity to install both PV and solar thermal systems on one property.Luckily the sloping roof to the back of the garage in addition to the main roof gave enough space for a 3.45kWp PV system and still left room to spare for a thermal system to supply 60% of the client’s annual hot water needs.
These days we find that the vast majority of customers are interested in PV systems for electricity generation and tend to overlook the benefits solar thermal can bring. There’s no doubt that with the feed-in tariff, PV is a great investment as well as very effective way to reduce your carbon footprint: if you have the space though, thermal is worth consideration too.
